1. Media Privacy Protection

Audio and video files often contain personal privacy or business secrets. To protect them, we have implemented the following mechanisms:

  • On-Device Processing: All speech transcription involving original media is performed locally on your Mac or iOS device, fully leveraging the Neural Engine of Apple chips for hardware acceleration.
  • Media Stays Local: Your original audio and video files are never uploaded to our servers, and we have no access to your local media library.

2. Account and Identity

To manage your membership benefits and translation credits, we have designed a minimalist account system:

  • Minimalist Registration: You only need to provide an email address to register. We do not require your real name, phone number, or any social media account information.
  • Anonymization: Other than your email address as a unique identifier, we do not collect any other personal information. Your usage behavior remains highly anonymous.
  • Payment Decoupling: When you purchase a subscription or credit pack, the system only logically associates the transaction receipt provided by Apple with your email account. This process is one-way and encrypted; we cannot reverse-engineer your Apple ID or any Apple account privacy information from the receipt.

3. Translation Data Transmission

To provide high-quality AI translation services, we transmit only the minimal necessary text data:

  • On-Demand Extraction: Subtitle text segments are only extracted and encrypted for transmission to our servers when you actively initiate a translation request.
  • Instant Processing: Transmitted text is used solely for generating translations. It is never used for AI model training and is not permanently stored on our servers.

4. Data Tracking Principles

We respect your digital sovereignty and adhere to transparent and proportionate data processing principles:

  • No Hidden Telemetry: The app does not secretly collect your viewing preferences, usage frequency, or any behavioral patterns.
  • No User Profiling: We do not build user profiles in any form, and we will never sell or transfer your information to third parties.

5. Payment and In-App Purchase Security

All transaction processes are hosted by Apple's official payment system:

  • Anonymous Credentials: We only receive anonymous transaction receipts from Apple to distribute translation credits. We cannot access your real name, contact information, or credit card details.

6. Account Management and Deletion

We fully respect your control over your personal data and provide account deletion functions that comply with GDPR standards:

  • Self-Service Deletion: You can initiate account deletion at any time in the app settings. Once completed, all your user data, transaction records, and operation logs will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • Deletion Restrictions: To ensure the security of subscription benefits, account deletion is only available when you do not have an active subscription.
  • Asset Handling: Account deletion will simultaneously clear all remaining credits in the account. These assets cannot be retrieved once deletion is successful.
  • Local Cleanup: Since transcription models and cache files are stored on your local device, uninstalling the app will completely clear such offline data.

7. Cookies and Website Data

When you visit our official website, we may use minimal cookie technology:

  • Functional Cookies: Used to maintain basic website functions, such as remembering your language preferences.
  • Anonymous Statistics: We may use minimalist tools to analyze traffic sources. This data is completely anonymous and cannot identify you personally.

8. Children's Privacy

SubEnvoy's services are not directly intended for minors:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the legal age required by your country/region).
  • If you discover that a minor has provided us with information without guardian consent, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete it.
