SubEnvoy v1.3.2 for iOS and macOS brings a change to how credits work: credits purchased through credit packs now never expire.
You can keep them until you need to translate subtitles, without making regular top-ups to preserve your balance.
No more expiry dates or top-ups to keep credits valid
Previously, purchased credits had a validity period. You needed to keep track of the expiry date and might need another purchase to extend it.
With this update, unused balances from one-time credit pack purchases no longer expire. Time passing, taking a break from SubEnvoy, or changing your subscription status will not cause your unused purchased credits to expire. You do not need to renew a subscription or buy another pack to keep them valid.
This also applies to credits you have already purchased and have not yet used. You do not need to buy another pack to preserve that balance.
Translate at your own pace
Subtitle translation needs can come and go. You might work through an entire series at once, then only occasionally translate a lecture or a documentary.
Now you can buy credits when you need them, use what a task requires, and keep the remaining purchased credits for next time. Even after a long break, there is no need to schedule a translation just to use up your balance before it expires.
In v1.3.2, we have also removed expiry dates and reminders for purchased credits and updated the account screens, purchase screens, and help text to reflect the new policy.
Purchased credits and subscription credits follow different rules
The no-expiry policy applies to credits purchased through credit packs. Monthly credits included with a subscription continue to follow their existing allocation and reset rules:
- Purchased credits: unused balances never expire. No active subscription or further purchase is required to keep them valid.
- Subscription credits: allocated and reset monthly, including on annual plans. Unused credits do not roll over to the next cycle and expire when subscription benefits end.
If you use AI subtitle translation occasionally, you can buy credit packs as needed. If you translate regularly, you can choose a subscription based on your usage. Your purchased credits remain valid regardless of whether you subscribe.
