SubEnvoy 1.3 is now rolling out for both iOS and macOS. This is a significant release — it fixes a root cause that has been nagging us for a while and restores the full power of Advanced mode.

The Timeline Offset Issue

If you’ve been following closely, you may have seen our recent announcement. Behind that rollback lay a stubborn problem:

When translating subtitles server-side, the previous translation protocol would occasionally shift the subtitle timestamps. The words were correct, but the timing could drift and adjacent subtitles would sometimes repeat or sit misaligned. While the impact was intermittent, it wasn’t a model quirk — it was an inherent limitation of the older V1 pipeline.

Because we couldn’t guarantee stable results while that limitation was in the way, we temporarily routed all Advanced mode requests through Standard mode. That kept things dependable and billed at Standard pricing, but it also meant Advanced mode wasn’t available.

Fixed at the source with V2

SubEnvoy 1.3 adopts the V2 translation protocol on the backend. Instead of patching the symptoms, V2 reworks how the timeline is handled so the offset issue is fixed at its source.

That means:

  • Advanced mode is fully restored — you can once again use the higher-quality Advanced pipeline for your translation jobs.
  • No more offset, no more duplicates — adjacent subtitles now stay aligned, and repeated lines are noticeably reduced.
  • Cleaner tasks, better day-to-day experience — on top of the fix, the cloud translation task list is now a native table, and the credits balance / expiry display on the home page is clearer (no more false “0 days to expire” warnings).
  • Also fixed: multilingual audio tracks being wrongly transcribed into English, and refinement of the filing number display on the About page.

Upgrade to 1.3 today

1.3 is a cross-platform release for both iOS and macOS. If you want to enjoy the V2 backend and see Advanced mode working as intended again, we recommend upgrading as soon as you can.
